The Sunride Icon Award is officially open. The winner of the on-line beauty contest will be the special bike that gains the highest number of LIKE on the Sunride Facebook page. As promised, here we have the 37 contendants. many of them have already been featured by Inazuma Cafe Racer, other will be featured in the next days. VOTE THE BIKE YOU LIKE THE MOST! See you in Pesaro on 25 and 26 July for the party!

Readers' rides: Japo's 124

Jacopo Albertoni, 24 y.o. graphic designer and aspiring art director, passionate of customizing, introduces his 1970 Gilera 124 5 speed, formerly his father’s ride, which slept 30 years in a barn… 

Jacopo Albertoni, 24 anni, grafico e aspirante art director col bernoccolo della meccanica, presenta la sua Gilera 124 5V del 1970, prima moto del padre, rimasta ferma per 30 anni in una stalla... 

Entirely stripped down, chassis and engine have been overhauled and rebuilt. The electrical system has been redesigned and simplified. The subframe has been shortened and modified with custom brackets for the new home made fiberglass tail. Undertail fender, battery box and plate holder have been handamde. The front fender has been reshaped. The painting was done at home. But the most challenging and radical change involved the rear suspension, with a new swingarm and monoshock, coming from a scooter Phantom F12. Almost everything has been done personally by Jacopo. Bravo. 

Interamente smontata, la ciclistica revisionata e il motore e interamente ricostruito e sostituiti i cuscinetti di banco. L'impianto elettrico è stato riprogettato e semplificato. Il telaio è stato accorciato e modificato con sostegni artigianali per il codino in vetroresina autocostruito. Sottocoda, alloggio per la batteria e portatarga sono in lamiera sagomata a mano. Il parafango anteriore è stato rimodellato. La verniciatura della carrozzeria è stata fatta in casa. Ma la modifica più impegnativa e radicale ha riguardato la sospensione posteriore, ora di tipo cantilever con monoammortizzatore, proveniente da uno scooter Phantom F12. Quasi tutto il lavoro è stato fatto in economia personalmente da Jacopo… Bravo. 

Ducati 1000 miles

Based on a Ducati 1000 SS, this muscle roadster was built by Lazareth on customer’s specifics. This guy explicitly wanted to refer to the style of the Ducati "Flat Red" by Jens Von Brauck. But the contamination of the Yamaha MT01 design is evident. The tank is aluminium made while the tail and fenders are made of fiberglass. 

Basata su una Ducati 1000 SS, questa roadster dalle forme muscolose è stata realizzata dalla Lazareth su specifiche del cliente che ha voluto espressamente richiamare lo stile della Ducati "Flat Red" di Jens Von Brauck. Ma è evidente la contaminazione roadster del design Yamaha MT01. Il serbatoio è in alluminio mentre la coda e i parafanghi sono in vetroresina.
